Alex Vinniski and Annette Huenke relocated here from the east coast in 1992, and opened Ancestral Spirits Gallery in 1993. Their goal was to offer an uncommon collection of fine art and crafts from Native Peoples of the United States (primarily NW Coast and Alaska), Canada and Russia (Siberia and the Ural Mts.). The gallery represents emerging artists as well as established craftspeople that most collectors would recognize, featuring a wide array of masks and sculpture in bone, stone, ivory and wood. We have hundreds of limited edition prints and original paintings, E.S. Curtis photos, museum-quality examples of antique and contemporary baskets, and an unusual selection of jewelry in ivory, stone and silver.
